Optimization of Liquid Shampoo Formula from Chia Seed Oil Using the Simplex Lattice Design Method
TLDR The optimized chia seed oil shampoo is effective and meets quality standards.
This study focused on optimizing a liquid shampoo formula using chia seed oil, known for its potential to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss due to its high keratin protein content. The optimization process utilized Design Expert software to determine the ideal concentrations of Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), with viscosity and foam height as key parameters. The optimal formulation was found to have component concentrations of X1 at 0.589307% and X2 at 9.41069%. Stability tests confirmed the formula's robustness, and statistical analysis showed no significant differences in viscosity and foam height. The final product met acceptable standards, suggesting it could be an effective hair care solution for consumers.
