TLDR The optimized chia seed oil shampoo formula is stable and meets all required characteristics.
The study aimed to optimize a liquid shampoo formula using chia seed oil, which contains sebum gland-stimulating agents and a keratin protein concentration of 23%, potentially aiding in hair growth and preventing hair loss. The optimization process utilized Design Expert 13 software, focusing on two components, HPMC and SLS, and two responses, viscosity and foam height. The optimum formula, with component X1 at 0.589307% and X2 at 9.41069%, was tested for physical characteristics and stability, meeting the requirements for organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity (414.80±9.94 cPs), foam height (7.060±0.11 cm), and pH (7.39±0). Stability was confirmed through a cycling test at 4°C and 40°C for 48 hours, showing no significant differences in the responses (p>0.05).
