Development and Evaluation of a Novel Delivery System Containing Phytophospholipid Complex for Skin Aging

The study developed a novel phytophospholipid complex cream using orange peel and liquorice extracts to enhance the delivery of antioxidant polyphenols for anti-aging effects. The optimal extract-to-phospholipid ratio of 1:1 showed the highest entrapment efficiency and significant antioxidant activity. The cream demonstrated improved skin retention of polyphenols, prolonged antioxidant activity, and retained anti-elastase activity, indicating potential as an anti-aging cosmeceutical. It was stable for 3 months and non-irritant, with no adverse effects observed in Wistar albino rats.
