Study of Normal Hair and Some Malformations with a Scanning Electron Microscope

The study utilized a scanning electron microscope to examine the cuticle and cortex of normal hair, as well as the changes observed in bamboo hair and Monilethrix. The authors concluded that these hair malformations might result from a chronological phase shift between the maturation processes of the hair cuticle and cortex.
