This case study discusses the successful treatment of Nodulocystic Acne, a severe form of acne vulgaris, using Ayurvedic methods. Acne vulgaris is characterized by noninflammatory and inflammatory lesions, caused by increased sebum production, cornification, microbial involvement, and inflammation. The Ayurvedic term for acne vulgaris is Mukhadushika or YuvanPidika, which is associated with the vitiation of Kapha, Vata, and Rakta. The patient in the study had been suffering from acne, a burning sensation, and itching on the face for six months. The study suggests that Ayurveda offers several natural remedies that can effectively control and treat acne. Cystic acne, which includes nodules and cysts, is particularly severe and prone to scarring, thus requiring early and aggressive treatment to minimize the risk of scarring. The document emphasizes the importance of treating cystic acne promptly to prevent the spread of infection and additional outbreaks.
