Nerve Growth Factor Regulates the Proliferation of Cashmere Goat Outer Root Sheath Cells Through the Activation of cAMP-Binding Protein

TLDR Nerve growth factor helps cashmere goat hair cells grow by activating a specific protein.
The study demonstrated that outer root sheath cells (ORSCs) from cashmere goats could sustain the secretion of nerve growth factor (NGF) and that the NGF/TrkA pathway influenced the activity of the transcription factor CREB, leading to the expression of the proliferation-associated protein PCNA. This finding provided a theoretical basis for marker-assisted breeding of cashmere goats to enhance hair growth. The research was supported by several Chinese national foundations and programs, and the authors declared no competing interests.

BPC-157 may promote hair growth by increasing angiogenesis, similar to how Minoxidil works, though no direct research confirms this yet. Users report combining BPC-157 with Minoxidil and finasteride for better results, but concerns about long-term safety exist.

The post and conversation are about the role of the enzyme 3alpha-hydroxysteroid reductase in hair loss and the potential of compounds like procyanidin B2 and sulforaphane to boost its activity for hair regrowth. Further research is needed to develop effective treatments based on this theory.

The post discusses the difference in effects of Minoxidil (Min) on scalp and facial hair. The user questions why Min-induced hair growth on the scalp is temporary, while facial hair growth seems permanent, even after stopping Min. They propose theories, including different Min mechanisms on body and facial hair, the role of DHT, and the possibility of not achieving fully terminal hair. The responses include personal experiences and theories about Min's effects on hair growth.

A hair loss treatment plan includes finasteride, dutasteride, RU58841, pyrilutamide, minoxidil, and microneedling to inhibit DHT and promote hair growth. It also recommends supplements like Reishi and Lion’s Mane mushrooms, and a shampoo with ketoconazole, caffeine, and melatonin.
