TLDR Nepenthes kampotiana extract can potentially prevent hair loss and could be an effective treatment for common baldness.
The study investigates the potential of Nepenthes kampotiana Lecomte ethanol extract (Nk-EE) in treating androgenic alopecia, a common form of hair loss. The research found that Nk-EE promotes the proliferation of human follicle dermal papilla cells and inhibits cell death, suggesting its potential in preventing hair loss. In vivo experiments using androgenic areata models demonstrated that Nk-EE positively impacted various biomarkers such as hair-to-skin ratio, hair type frequency, and hair thickness. These findings suggest that Nk-EE could be an effective treatment for androgenic alopecia.
