TLDR The ointment effectively treats neurodermatitis and chronic eczema without causing skin irritation.
The study developed a suspended ointment containing 0.54% neomycin sulfate and 0.10% triamcinolone acetonide for treating neurodermatitis and chronic eczema, aiming to improve therapeutic outcomes and address delivery issues associated with glucocorticoid analogs. The formulation was evaluated for quality, stability, and in vitro drug release, showing that it met required standards and followed first-order release kinetics. Raman spectroscopy confirmed effective skin penetration of triamcinolone acetonide, and skin irritation tests showed no detectable irritation. These findings suggest the ointment is a promising treatment option for these skin conditions.
