TLDR The hydrogel dressing speeds up and improves diabetic wound healing.
The study introduces a multifunctional hydrogel dressing, Fe/Ce@APS Gel, designed for phase-specific therapy in diabetic wound (DW) healing. This innovative dressing addresses key pathological barriers such as oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, hypoxia, and impaired angiogenesis. It effectively mitigates early inflammation, promotes angiogenesis and cell proliferation mid-process, and supports collagen deposition and tissue regeneration in later stages. The hydrogel's multifunctional capabilities are attributed to its incorporation of nanozymes and astragalus polysaccharide, offering a comprehensive approach that aligns with the dynamic needs of chronic wounds in diabetic patients. This approach demonstrates significant potential in enhancing the speed and quality of wound healing outcomes.
