TLDR The nanogel with Bangkal bark extract effectively fights acne-causing bacteria.
This study successfully formulated a nanogel incorporating Bangkal (Nauclea subdita) bark extract, demonstrating its potential as a natural treatment for acne. The nanogel, characterized by a nanoparticle size of 0.995 nm, showed effective antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, with inhibition zones ranging from 6 to 8 mm. The F3 formulation, containing 8% extract, exhibited the highest antibacterial activity with an 8 mm inhibition zone. The use of ethanol as a solvent supports sustainable and eco-friendly formulation development, highlighting the viability of Bangkal bark extract nanogel as a natural alternative for acne management.
