TLDR CoCr2O4 catalysts effectively and sustainably produce diaminopyrimidine oxides with high yield.
The study explores the use of nano-CoCr2O4 catalysts in the synthesis of 2,6-diamino-4-N(R1R2)-pyrimidine N-oxide, a compound with potential applications in treating conditions such as androgenetic alopecia by promoting hair growth. The catalysts were prepared using a sol-gel method and characterized through various techniques. The CoCr2O4 catalyst demonstrated exceptional catalytic activity, achieving a 95.6% yield in 90 minutes and maintaining its efficiency over 5 recycling cycles. This suggests that CoCr2O4 is an effective and sustainable catalyst for producing diaminopyrimidine oxides.
