    The study reviewed 734 lesions of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and found that 13.2% originated from the scalp. It was observed that scalp BCC had distinct features compared to facial BCC, including a higher proportion of the superficial type, younger patient age, and larger tumor size. These characteristics were more similar to truncal BCC than to facial BCC. The findings suggested that scalp BCC might be a separate entity from facial BCC, despite their anatomical proximity.
