TLDR Microneedling with exosome therapy may effectively regrow hair without side effects.
This study explores the potential of microneedling radiofrequency (MNRF) followed by topical exosome application (MNRF-Exo) as a treatment for pattern hair loss (PHL). A scoping review identified positive effects on hair regrowth from existing studies on MNRF and exosome therapies. The prospective study involved 20 patients with PHL, showing significant increases in hair density and diameter, high patient satisfaction, and no adverse events over a median follow-up of 10 months. The treatment's efficacy was independent of gender and PHL severity. While the results are promising, randomized controlled trials are necessary to confirm efficacy and optimize treatment parameters.
