TLDR Minoxidil-loaded liposomes effectively deliver to hair follicles, potentially improving hair growth and treating alopecia.
This study from 19 years ago aimed to develop a liposomal system for delivering minoxidil to pilosebaceous units, which are related to hair follicles and are the target for treating alopecia. The liposomal system was found to be a promising approach for delivering minoxidil to pilosebaceous units, with neutral liposomes being the most effective in delivering the drug. The liposomal system has potential therapeutic applications in improving hair growth and treating alopecia.
