TLDR Mini punch grafts effectively healed a large ulcer in a child.
The document reported on the use of multiple mini punch grafts for treating an extensive ulcer in a 6-year-old boy who had suffered a foot injury in a traffic accident. Traditional skin grafting had failed, so mini punch grafts, which include epidermal and dermal components with hair follicles and epidermal stem cells, were harvested from the boy's inguinal and buttock skin and applied to the ulcer. After 8 weeks, the grafts showed significant success, with more than 90% epithelialization and lateral extensions, suggesting that multiple mini punch grafts could be an effective method for covering large ulcers.
