Multiple Mini Punch Grafts for Extensive Ulcer: A Case Report

TLDR Mini punch grafts effectively healed a large ulcer in a child.
The case report described the use of multiple mini punch grafts to treat an extensive ulcer in a 6-year-old boy who had suffered a foot injury in a traffic accident. Traditional skin grafting had failed, so mini punch grafts, which include epidermal and dermal components with hair follicles and epidermal stem cells, were harvested from the boy's inguinal and buttock skin and applied to the ulcer. After 8 weeks, the grafts showed significant lateral extension and more than 90% epithelialization, indicating that this method could effectively cover large ulcers.
