TLDR The new technique effectively treats hairline vitiligo with repigmentation and hair regrowth.
The study introduces Transversely Sectioned Mini-Punch Grafting, a novel technique for treating hairline vitiligo, combining mini-punch grafting and follicular hair transplantation. Five patients aged 26-32 with stable hairline vitiligo underwent this procedure after unsuccessful nonsurgical treatments. The technique involved sectioning grafts transversely, preserving intact half follicles for hairy areas and using sectioned grafts for non-hairy areas. Results showed satisfactory repigmentation and hair growth without complications. The method is effective, safe, and reduces operative time, but further research is needed to confirm its efficacy and establish uniform evaluation criteria.
