TLDR Microneedling showed slight improvement in hair loss but no major changes in hair follicles or scalp condition.
This case report described a 37-year-old woman with a 15-year history of female pattern alopecia who underwent three sessions of scalp microneedling. Despite slight clinical and dermoscopic improvement, there were no significant changes in follicle count, inflammation, or fibrous tracts observed after the procedure. The study highlighted the need for histopathological analysis to assess the safety and effectiveness of scalp microneedling for alopecia and called for larger studies to better understand its impact.
