TLDR OBEME effectively enhances wound healing and could be a promising carrier for skin treatments.
The study investigated a new transdermal oil body microgel emulsion (OBEME) as a drug delivery carrier to enhance wound healing. The OBEME demonstrated good stability, maintaining its structure after 90 days of storage and under stress conditions like low-speed centrifugation and freeze-thaw cycles. In vivo experiments showed that OBEME increased skin permeability and significantly improved wound healing, with a wound coverage rate exceeding 98% after 15 days of treatment. It also reduced inflammatory markers and promoted angiogenesis, re-epithelialization, and collagen formation. These findings suggested that OBEME could be an effective carrier for topical drug delivery, supporting the development of new treatments for skin repair.
