Low-level laser therapy as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia

    TLDR Low-level laser therapy may improve hair regrowth and thickness for androgenetic alopecia, but more research is needed.
    This document is a systematic review of studies on low-level laser therapy (LLLT) as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The review found that LLLT may be a promising treatment option for AGA, with improvements in hair regrowth, thickness, and patient satisfaction reported in the majority of studies. However, more high-quality studies are needed to confirm its effectiveness and determine the optimal treatment parameters. The HairMax LaserComb and TOPHAT 655 were the most commonly studied devices, and the ideal dosimetry for LLLT is still unclear. Overall, LLLT appears to be a viable treatment option for AGA, but more research is needed.
