TLDR 77% of recovered COVID-19 patients in Nepal experienced long-term symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, and breathing issues.
This study investigated long COVID-19 effects in a Nepalese cohort of 300 COVID-19 patients, revealing that 77% experienced persistent symptoms beyond two weeks post-infection. The average age was 66 years, with a slight female majority (50.3%). Common acute symptoms included fever and cough, while prevalent long-term symptoms were fatigue (57%), hair loss (24%), and dyspnea (15.6%). The study found significant associations between long COVID-19 symptoms and factors such as gender, age, and hospitalization, with females and younger individuals more affected. The findings highlight the substantial impact of long COVID-19 on recovered patients.
