TLDR Propolis and aloe vera ointment effectively treats mild to moderate psoriasis.
The study assessed the efficacy of an ointment containing propolis (50%) and aloe vera (3%) in treating mild to moderate psoriasis in 2248 patients over 12 weeks. Results showed that 64.4% of patients in the treatment group experienced excellent response, 22.2% had a good response, 5.6% had a weak response, and 7.7% had no response. The placebo group showed no significant improvement. Histological analysis also indicated a reduction in hyperkeratosis and acanthosis. The findings supported the therapeutic value of propolis and aloe vera for psoriasis treatment.
