TLDR Injecting a person's own fat stem cells into their skin can make it look younger and improve double eyelids for over a year.
The study involved eight patients and explored the effects of a single intradermal injection of autologous adipose-tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) on aged skin and double eyelids. The results showed that wrinkles, including those on the forehead, lower eyelids, and nasolabial grooves, diminished and disappeared a few weeks to months after treatment. Double eyelids became more prominent, and facial pores significantly reduced in size, with effects lasting over a year. The study also found that the ADSC injection led to an activation of the arrector pili muscle in aged skin, suggesting its potential for recovery from age-related ptosis without surgery. Further research is needed to establish ADSC skin injection therapy as an effective treatment for aged skin.
