TLDR A new anti-baldness patch effectively treats hair loss by blocking enzymes linked to the condition.
In the 2018 study, a novel anti-baldness agent named IPSTIC patch hair was developed, which uses a polymeric blend to deliver bioactive molecules for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The patch showed significant inhibition of NO radicals (72.4 ± 0.6%) and 5α-reductase activity (68.3 ± 0.7%), enzymes linked to hair loss. It also demonstrated a sustained release of active ingredients over 24 hours and remained stable under various conditions. The biocompatibility of the patch was confirmed, indicating its safety and effectiveness for topical AGA treatment. The study's experiments were conducted in triplicate, enhancing the reliability of the findings.
