TLDR Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) shows promise in military medicine but its effectiveness varies.
The review article assessed the potential application of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in military medicine, focusing on its regenerative properties. PRP, an autologous blood product rich in platelets, showed promise in improving healing in various medical fields, including orthopedics, dermatology, and sports medicine. The review included 49 studies, categorized into six groups: tendon injury, bone injury, wound healing, dermatology, rejuvenation, and hair growth. Results indicated that while PRP produced promising outcomes, the results were inconsistent, and the therapy remained controversial due to a lack of reliable studies. The review highlighted PRP's potential benefits, such as enhanced bone regeneration and wound healing, but emphasized the need for more robust research to confirm its efficacy.
