TLDR Injectable platelet-rich fibrin is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss.
The study evaluated the efficacy, safety, and feasibility of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (I-PRF) therapy in treating androgenetic alopecia in 15 patients. These patients received I-PRF and micro-needling treatments every 2 weeks for 4 sessions, alongside minoxidil, finasteride, and multivitamin supplements. Clinical photographs, dermoscopic evaluations, and a standard assessment questionnaire were used for monitoring. The results showed significant hair growth improvement, with a patient satisfaction score of 7.42. The study concluded that I-PRF is a safe, easy, time, and cost-effective adjuvant treatment for androgenetic alopecia, offering theoretical advantages over platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
