Clinical Improvements in Erectile Function and Mood in Hypogonadal Men Treated with 4.5% Nasal Testosterone Gel (Natesto)

The study evaluated the impact of Natesto®, a 4.5% nasal testosterone gel, on erectile function and mood in hypogonadal men over a 90-day period with extensions up to a year. Participants self-administered the gel two or three times daily, with dosage adjustments to maintain normal testosterone levels. Results showed significant enhancements in all five domains of erectile function by Day 30, with continued improvements throughout the study. Mood assessments indicated an increase in positive mood and a decrease in negative mood attributes significantly by Day 30, with no significant changes noted after that point. The study concluded that Natesto® effectively improves erectile function and mood within 30 days of treatment. The research was funded by Acerus Pharmaceuticals.
