TLDR Using a stimulating cream shampoo before applying Minoxidil helps it penetrate hair follicles better, enhancing its hair growth-promoting effect.
In 2016, a study was conducted to investigate the impact of a stimulating cream shampoo treatment on the penetration of Minoxidil through hair follicles. The study found that pre-treatment with the stimulating cream shampoo increased the penetration of Minoxidil into the hair follicles and scalp. Specifically, the percentage of Minoxidil recovered into the hair follicles was 0.16% with shampoo pretreatment, compared to 0.06% without. In the scalp, the percentage of Minoxidil reached 2.68% with shampoo, compared to 0.68% without. These results suggest that the stimulating cream shampoo enhances the effect of Minoxidil, a hair growth-promoting agent, by helping it target the hair follicles more effectively.

It is cautioned that there are risks associated with not using medically-prescribed treatments, but it is suggested to consider mechanical stimulation in addition to those prescribed treatments.

They have not used minoxidil yet but are considering it for further gains. DHT blocking drugs such as finasteride and dutasteride are recommended to maintain regrowth results.
