TLDR Using a stimulating cream shampoo before applying Minoxidil increases its penetration into hair follicles and scalp.
Six years ago, a study was conducted to investigate the impact of a stimulating cream shampoo treatment on the penetration of Minoxidil through hair follicles. Minoxidil is a treatment for Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a condition characterized by reduced hair density and width due to a shortened hair cycle. The study found that pre-treatment with the stimulating cream shampoo significantly increased the penetration of Minoxidil into the hair follicles and scalp. Specifically, the quantity of Minoxidil recovered into the hair follicles was 1.41 µg with shampoo pre-treatment, compared to 0.29 µg without. In the scalp, Minoxidil quantity reached 32.02 µg with shampoo, compared to 6.62 µg without. This data supports the conclusion that the stimulating cream shampoo enhances Minoxidil penetration and helps target the hair follicles.

A study that outlines the full model for androgenic alopecia (AGA) which links DHT to cellular senescence in dermal papilla cells, and suggests black chokeberry as a source of cyanidin 3-O-arabinoside polyphenol with potential anti-oxidant properties that could reverse this process. The post encourages reaching out to experts in anti-aging and longevity to research treatments involving the polyphenol.
