TLDR Both new minoxidil formulations effectively stimulated hair growth.
The study conducted by Zaporizhzhia State Medical University evaluated two new topical minoxidil formulations—a 2% cream and a 1% gel-based shampoo—designed to treat androgenic alopecia. The research demonstrated that both formulations exhibited significant hair growth-stimulating and follicle-protective activities in experimental alopecia models. The 2% minoxidil cream showed a comparable growth-stimulating effect to the reference spray "Pilfood Bosnalek," while the "Trichlomine" shampoo outperformed the reference "Dove" shampoo in stimulating hair growth. The shampoo's enhanced effect was attributed to its plant-antioxidant complex, which potentiated minoxidil's action. However, neither the cream nor the reference products significantly impacted dermal energy metabolism indicators.
