TLDR A woman with IgG/IgA pemphigus was treated successfully with dapsone and steroids.
The document is a case study of a 36-year-old Chinese woman diagnosed with IgG/IgA pemphigus, a rare skin condition. The patient initially showed symptoms of skin blisters and scalp scaling after consuming herbal medicine, but did not experience significant hair loss or hair cycle abnormalities. The condition was initially treated as subcorneal pustular dermatosis, but further investigation led to the diagnosis of IgG/IgA pemphigus. The patient was successfully treated with dapsone and prednisolone. The study emphasizes the unique clinical and immunopathologic characteristics of this condition and the importance of considering it in differential diagnoses of skin and scalp conditions. The study also highlights the usefulness and limitations of DIF microscopy in managing IgG/IgA pemphigus and suggests that increased awareness can enhance clinical outcomes.
