TLDR Testosterone injections can cause skin darkening and thickening.
The study reported a case of a 49-year-old man with adult onset idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism who developed progressive hyperpigmentation and acanthosis nigricans on his face and oral mucosa after receiving testosterone injections for hormone replacement therapy. This was the first documented instance of such skin changes associated with testosterone therapy, highlighting the potential for significant dermatological side effects in patients undergoing this treatment.
