TLDR High DHEA and short cervical length in women with PCOS and recurrent miscarriages may harm pregnancy outcomes.
This study examined testosterone, SHBG, and DHEA levels in pregnant Egyptian women with PCOS, RM, and healthy controls at weeks 8, 16, and 20 of pregnancy. Women with PCOS and RM had higher DHEA and shorter cervical lengths compared to healthy controls, potentially impacting pregnancy outcomes. PCOS was also linked to lower SHBG levels. The findings suggest that DHEA and cervical length at 20 weeks could predict pregnancy risks, though further research is needed to confirm these results in other populations.
