TLDR Honey mixture improved damaged Asian hair, making it stronger, softer, and shinier.
The study investigated the reparative properties of a combination of four honeys from Ouessant, Corsica, Aland, and Ikaria islands on Asian hair damaged by UV-A exposure and urban pollution. The hair shafts were treated with an aqueous solution of the honey combination, then assessed for porosity, integrity, and surface roughness using various microscopy techniques. The results showed that the honey combination repaired 54% of the integrity and porosity of the hair shafts (p<0.001) and 61% of the hair shaft surface (p<0.01), leading to stronger, softer, and shinier hair. This suggests that the honey combination could be a promising candidate for hair care.
