TLDR The herbal mix with Houttuynia cordata, Perilla frutescens, and green tea boosts hair growth in mice.
The study investigated the effects of an Asian traditional herbal complex containing Houttuynia cordata Thunb, Perilla frutescens Var. acuta, and green tea on hair growth in C57BL/6 mice. The results showed significant improvements in various hair growth parameters, including the gross area of hair regrowth, hair follicle diameter and length, and the number of hair follicles in the deep subcutis. Additionally, western blot assays indicated changes in IGF-1 and TGF-β1 levels, suggesting a potential mechanism for the observed hair growth stimulation.
