TLDR The hairline lowering surgery with bone tunneling suture fixation is safe and effective, with high patient satisfaction.
The study assessed the effectiveness and safety of a hairline lowering surgery technique using bone tunneling suture fixation in 91 patients, predominantly female, with an average age of 28.67 years. The procedure aimed to improve facial aesthetics by reducing forehead length, which was successfully decreased from an average of 8.09 cm to 6.57 cm, with results maintained at the 12-month follow-up. High patient satisfaction was reported, with 75.8% being very satisfied and 24.2% satisfied, and only one patient experienced a complication (hematoma). The study concluded that the technique is a safe and effective alternative to other surgical methods for hairline lowering, despite some limitations such as its retrospective design, small sample size, and short follow-up period.
