Formulation And Physical Test Of Hair Tonic With Mangosteen Peel Extract (Garcinia Mangostana L.)

The study investigates the formulation and physical testing of a hair tonic made from mangosteen peel extract (Garcinia mangostana L.), known for its antioxidant properties due to xanthones and flavonoids. These compounds are beneficial for hair health, potentially repairing damaged hair cells and promoting hair growth. The research involved creating four formulations of the hair tonic, which were evaluated through various tests, including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and stability tests using freeze-thaw cycling. Results showed that all formulations had suitable physical characteristics, with no significant color differences and stable homogeneity. The pH and viscosity remained within standard limits, indicating that the formulations are suitable for use.
