TLDR The hair tonic made from cayenne pepper leaf extract is physically stable and suitable for use.
The study investigated the formulation and physical stability of a hair tonic made from ethanol extract of cayenne pepper leaves (Capsicum frutescens L.), which contain saponins and flavonoids known to promote hair growth. The hair tonic was formulated with varying concentrations of propylene glycol (10%, 15%, 20%) and ethanol (5%, 10%, 15%), along with other ingredients like menthol and parabens. Over a 14-day period, the physical stability tests showed that all formulations maintained good stability, with pH levels between 4.9 and 5.1, viscosity below 5 Cps, and specific gravity around 1 gram/ml, indicating that the hair tonic formulations were stable and within acceptable ranges for hair tonic specifications.
