TLDR Deucravacitinib helped a man regrow hair and improve psoriasis.
A 51-year-old man with psoriasis vulgaris and alopecia universalis (AU) experienced significant hair regrowth after treatment with Deucravacitinib, a TYK2 inhibitor. Initially, the patient had nearly complete hair loss, with a SALT-Score of 97 and a DLQI of 19. After 7 months of Deucravacitinib therapy, his SALT-Score improved to 13, and his DLQI to 3, with hair regrowth observed on the scalp, eyebrows, and body. The treatment was well-tolerated with no adverse events. This case suggests that Deucravacitinib may be effective for AU, warranting further controlled studies to evaluate its efficacy for alopecia areata.
