    A 17-year-old male with Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome (TRPS) experienced progressive alopecia despite treatments with 5% minoxidil and 1 mg daily finasteride over 2 years. Gene analysis revealed down-regulation of the TRPS gene in balding scalp areas. Hair transplantation of 1,300 follicular units from the occipital to the frontal and mid-scalp areas resulted in successful hair growth over 3 years, with the patient expressing satisfaction and no complications. The study concluded that while conventional treatments for male pattern baldness were ineffective for TRPS-related alopecia, hair transplantation proved to be a viable cosmetic solution.
