Promoting Hair Growth and Hair Keratin Production with a Propolis Extract

This study demonstrates that a Propolis extract can effectively promote hair growth by activating the Wnt/b-catenin pathway in human hair follicle dermal papilla cells and increasing Keratin 85 (K85) expression in ex vivo cultured hair follicles. The Propolis extract significantly enhanced the activation of hair growth signals in a dose-dependent manner, indicating its potential as a candidate for promoting hair growth. The increase in K85 expression, an early marker of differentiation into hair shaft keratinocytes, suggests enhanced hair shaft production and stimulation of hair growth.
