TLDR Hair dye may trigger anti-GBM disease relapse, and rituximab can help manage it.
A 43-year-old male with anti-GBM disease experienced a relapse, marked by diffuse alveolar hemorrhage and increased anti-GBM antibody titers, after using a new hair dye. Initially treated with plasmapheresis, steroids, and cyclophosphamide, his relapse was managed with plasmapheresis, intravenous immunoglobulins, and rituximab. This case underscores the importance of avoiding potential triggers like hair dye and supports the use of rituximab in managing relapsing anti-GBM disease.
