TLDR Both TCA and GA peels effectively improved skin thickness and collagen without significant differences.
The study evaluated the effects of two medium-depth chemical peels, TCA (35%) and GA (70%), on rat skin. Conducted on 40 adult male albino rats, the research found that both peels increased epidermal and dermal thickness, as well as collagen and elastic fibers, after one and three weeks. There was also an initial increase in CD34 immunopositive cells, indicating stimulation of hair bulge stem cells, which decreased after three weeks. The study concluded that both TCA and GA effectively improved skin morphology with no significant difference between them.
