TLDR The chemical peel improved the appearance of hand spots safely and effectively.
The study investigated the effectiveness of a 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) + 3% glycolic acid (GA) chemical peel for treating hand lentigines in a split-hand, prospective trial with 20 subjects, 18 of whom completed the study. Results showed significant improvement in the appearance of lentigines, as evaluated by both blinded dermatologists and the subjects, with no adverse events. The chemical peel was deemed a safe and effective option for hand rejuvenation, with fewer side effects and downtime compared to cryotherapy and being more cost-effective than energy-based devices. However, the study's limitations included a small sample size and lack of diversity in the study population.
