TLDR D-004 did not harm sperm cells in mice.
The study evaluated the genotoxic effects of D-004, an extract from the Cuban royal palm, on sperm head morphology in OF-1 mice. Over 8 weeks, four groups of 10 mice each were given different doses of D-004 (500, 1,000, and 1,500 mg/kg) or a control solvent. The results showed no significant differences in sperm concentration or the frequency of normal and abnormal sperm among the groups. Additionally, there was no mortality or clinical signs of toxicity observed. The study concluded that D-004 did not exhibit genotoxic potential on male germ cells in mice during spermatogenesis.
