TLDR Fenugreek gel significantly reduces split ends and improves hair health.
This double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial evaluated the effectiveness of a gel containing 5% fenugreek seed extract on preventing trichoptilosis (split ends) in 60 patients. Conducted at Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, the study found that the treatment group experienced a significant reduction in split ends compared to the placebo group. Other hair-related issues such as hair loss, dryness, and brittleness also showed improvement in the treatment group. The positive effects were attributed to the anti-radical, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties of fenugreek's steroidal saponins. Overall, the fenugreek gel formulation demonstrated beneficial and acceptable results in reducing split ends.
