    Succinic acid (SA) is gaining attention in cosmetics and aesthetic dermatology for its roles in cellular energy metabolism and signaling, offering anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and exfoliating properties. It is effective in treating acne, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation by supporting fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. Despite its potential, most clinical evidence comes from small-scale studies, highlighting the need for further research. SA is used as a surfactant, pH adjuster, emollient, and active ingredient, and shows promise in chemical peels and mesotherapy. A study with 20 patients demonstrated that SA combined with hyaluronic acid significantly improved rosacea symptoms, suggesting its value in dermatological treatments.
