TLDR Combining FUE hair transplantation with PRP improves hair density and patient satisfaction in scarring alopecia.
This case series demonstrated that combining Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplantation with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) significantly improved outcomes in patients with scarring alopecia. Four cases were presented, including patients with various types of scars and frontal fibrosing alopecia. PRP enhanced the survival and growth of transplanted hair follicles, improved the texture and quality of scar tissue, and provided better cosmetic results. The study highlighted PRP's potential to improve vascularity and the environment of scarred areas, leading to successful hair restoration and scar camouflage, with over 95% of grafts actively growing after 2 weeks and no need for revision surgery after 6 months.
