TLDR The woman's skin condition improved with specific oral and topical treatments.
A 22-year-old woman was diagnosed with Fox-Fordyce disease after experiencing pruritic papules around her armpit for 1 year. Histological examination revealed excess cornification in the epidermis, keratinous plugs, edema around the hair follicle wall, inflammatory cell infiltration in the hair follicle infundibulum, and dilated coil gland ducts. Treatment with oral teicoplanin and topical 0.1% Vitamin A acid cream and neomycin fluocet led to a gradual fading of the lesions.
