TLDR Herbal shampoos made from natural ingredients can effectively replace synthetic shampoos.
The study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal shampoo using traditional medicinal ingredients such as Reetha powder, Bhringraj powder, Chia seeds, Flax seeds, Jatamansi, Hibiscus, Almond oil, and Vitamin E. These ingredients are known for their properties to promote hair growth, nourish, strengthen, and condition hair. The shampoo formulation was tested for various parameters including visual inspection, pH measurement, solid content percentage, dirt dispersion, foam production, washability, spreadability, and antimicrobial activity. The pH was maintained between 5.5 and 6.5, which is ideal for scalp health. The results showed that all formulations were satisfactory, indicating that herbal shampoos can be effectively made from natural plant sources and can serve as superior alternatives to synthetic shampoos.
