TLDR The new herbal shampoo is effective, safe, and more affordable than other products.
The study developed a novel herbal shampoo using Ziziphus Spina-Christi and assessed its properties in comparison to commercial synthetic and natural shampoos. The new shampoo demonstrated clear appearance, effective cleansing, low surface tension, small bubble size, and stable foam. It had a nearly neutral pH of 7.04 and a solid content percentage of 21-23%, suggesting ease of washability. Its foaming capacity was on par with commercial shampoos, and it showed the longest wetting time, implying a lower detergent concentration. The study concluded that the herbal shampoo offers good conditioning, is safer, and more cost-effective than existing market products. The research received no external funding and was supported by SVKM's Institute of Pharmacy Dhule, with no conflicts of interest reported.
